Will’s Cackleberry Castle Pumpkin Farm is a favorite for families, with hayrides, a corn maze, and plenty of pumpkins ready for picking. Pumpkin Junction in Sauquoit offers a festive atmosphere that’s perfect for photos and fall fun. Savicki’s Farm Market and Teel Farms are great for those looking for a classic, small-town pumpkin patch experience, while North Star Orchards in Westmoreland pairs pumpkin picking with a market full of fresh, local produce— perfect for a fall weekend adventure.

Apple Picking & Hay Wagon Rides

Apple season in Oneida County kicks off in early September, and there’s nothing like spending a fall afternoon exploring a local orchard. North Star Orchards is a longtime favorite, with rows of apple trees, fresh cider, baked goods and more. Be sure to take advantage of their wagon rides when you’re there! 

Another spot worth a visit is Windy Hill Orchard & Farm Market, where you can pick your own apples, sip on apple cider slushies, and stock up on fresh-baked treats— all with scenic farm views as your backdrop. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the season and experience the flavors of fall.

Seasonal Festivals & Events

Fall in Oneida County is full of events worth planning a trip around. Stop by the Clinton Cider Mill to watch a cider-making demonstration— then grab freshly pressed cider and homemade treats to go.

The Utica Zoo’s Spooktacular Harvest Festival is a must-visit, with live music, local vendors, and plenty of family fun surrounded by animals and the zoo’s fall foliage.

In Rome, Fort Rickey Discovery Zoo has fall-themed events and activities that kids will love, including hands-on animal encounters.
