"From Memory to Monument."

Fort Stanwix National Monument

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the opening of Fort Stanwix National Monument, park partners at the Rome Historical Society and the park itself have created a two-part exhibit entitled "From Memory to Monument." The exhibit was unveiled at both the Rome Historical Society (RHS) and the Fort Stanwix visitor center on Saturday, November 12, 2016.  Both parts of the, the monumental efforts to bring "Fort Stanwix" to life in the 1960s and 1970s, and details about the archeological process and reconstruction of the fort.
