Haunted History Trail Releases New York State’s Largest Collection of Halloween and Haunted Events

Nearly 500 haunted events include ghost hunts, ghoulish walks, guided tours and more

Batavia, N.Y. – The Haunted History Trail of New York State is home to the largest collection of haunted and Halloween events statewide. Nearly 500 events – the most since 2019 – are offered now through Halloween Day and range from guided ghost walks and themed Halloween parks to historical haunted tours and paranormal investigations. A complete listing of events can be found on the Haunted History Trail’s online Ghostly Events Calendar

Home to all things paranormal, the Haunted History Trail features more than 80 authentically haunted locations across the state – some of which have been featured on television programs dedicated to exploring sites known for their paranormal activity. Experiences include historical tours, opportunities to “dine with the spirits,” psychic and medium readings, ghost hunts, overnight stays and more. But in the months leading up to Halloween, the Trail broadens its offerings to include Halloween-themed events – on and off the trail – allowing New York State residents and visitors to embark on their own seasonal adventure at a location nearest them.

Oneida County Tourism has been a Haunted History Trail partner since its inception in 2013. Within the county, there are several attractions and options for those seeking all things haunted, including the Capitol Theatre in Rome, Fort Stanwix National Monument, Oriskany Battlefield, The Stanley Theatre and more.

“We are thrilled to be part of this statewide initiative that focuses on all things paranormal and haunted,” said Kelly Blazosky, president of Oneida County Tourism.  “The Haunted History Trail of NYS is a program that’s generated us thousands of leads and inquiries. We’re happy to have top-notch attractions and activities that we can promote on the trail like Park After Dark Tours in Sylvan Beach, CAYO Industrial Horror Realm experience and many others.”

“We have a strong, dedicated following that engages with us all year – and when Halloween season arrives and we roll out our suite of events, we see an even greater interest in attendance,” says Kelly Rapone, administrator of the Haunted History Trail. “After two quieter years, we’re excited to reinvigorate our Halloween schedule. We’re really bursting at the seams this year, and we’re excited for visitors to experience this spectacularly spooky time of year!”

While the Trail prides itself on its unmatched catalog of destinations that promise frights and thrills, it also recognizes that Halloween is beloved by individuals of all ages and strives to include events that are appropriate for everyone – festivals, corn mazes, costumed historical tours, and events at the Syracuse and Utica zoos are among those designed for the whole family to enjoy.
