Celebrate the Power of Inclusion
The New York Special Olympics State Summer Games return to Utica, NY June 5-6, 2026. Competition will be spread out across four locations: Utica University, Hamilton College, the Utica Tennis Center, and Mohawk Valley Community College.
Volunteers are still needed for athlete assistance and general event support!
The Opening Ceremonies will take place on Friday, June 5, at Utica University.
Competition will commence on Saturday, June 6, divided among participating locations as follows:
- Utica University — Athletics, Powerlifting, Basketball
- Hamilton College — Swimming
- Mohawk Valley Community College — Volleyball
- Utica Tennis Center — Tennis
In July 2025, New York Special Olympics announced Utica would host the State Summer Games in 2026, 2027, and 2028.

Special Olympics New York is a privately funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises its operating budget through tax-deductible contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. Athletes and their families do not pay to participate.
