F.X. Matt/Saranac Brewery | Utica
Founded in 1888 by German-born immigrant Francis Xavier Matt (F.X.), the Matt Brewing Company is one of the few remaining great American regional breweries. Tours run Monday through Saturday during June, July, and August and Friday and Saturday from September through May. Tours are at 1 and 3 PM. Retail shop and tavern for beer and soda tasting.

New York State Rome Fish Hatchery | Rome
The Hatchery has been providing fish to over 350 public waters for over 75 years. The facility hatches out more than 1 million Brown and Brook trout eggs annually, raises them to about 8-9 inches long, then stocks them in rivers, streams, lakes, and ponds in 11 counties in New York State. The Hatchery is open daily and has a new visitor’s center with information about the Hatchery’s history and fish culture.
