Cincinnatti Creek in Concert

Unity Hall

103 Vanderkemp Avenue
Barneveld, NY 13304

Presently in their ninth season together, Cincinnati Creek offers the listener a wide variety of acoustic music.  Using their bluegrass and country background, audiences will hear locally based original material, 50’s rock and roll, country, bluegrass, and gospel.    Cincinnati Creek’s live concerts embrace tight harmonies and foot-tapping bluegrass instrumentals.   Of course, good fun is always a part of the show.  You will hear some songs from their “Doing as We Please” album.  This CD and the earlier release, “Little Bit of Love,” are often featured on WKTV’s local TV program “Mohawk Valley Living."

Cincinnati Creek   was formed in 2008.  Each performer brings their unique talents and experience to the band.    Lori Thompson plays mandolin, guitar, and sings both lead and harmony vocals.  Lori has written and recorded many songs.  Some of those songs are historically based and promote the folklore of the region.  Chris Pepe plays great banjo leads on every song, and he also sings bass harmony.  He is the sound tech for the band as well.   Gary Dygert plays the guitar, dobro, and mandolin.  He also sings lead and harmony vocals.  Every group needs an official musicologist, and Gary adds many interesting tunes to the group’s repertoire.  Cathy Martin is also multitalented. She plays the bass, sings the high harmony, and a sings a few solos as well.   She has been a performer for many years with the Remsen Community Choir and the Steuben Players.

Cincinnati Creek has performed at many venues including MWPAI, The Remsen Festival of the Arts, Bluegrass Festivals, Utica Monday Night, and numerous coffee houses and outdoor events.  For the past 3 years they have lent their talents to the Steuben Players annual historical play production.  So come on out to a concert and join the fun.   CD’s are available at concerts and online at cdbaby.com.

Opening the show will be The Tweedlers.  This band consists of Russ Bellair on mandolin, guitar, and vocals; Rod Barnes on guitar, banjo, and vocals; Tim Baldwin on fiddle, guitar, and vocals; and Dan Porter on bass and vocals.  They play “Bluegrass and Ol’time Country Music” and are known for great instrumentals and awesome harmonies.

Admission for this show will be $10 for Unity Hall Foundation members and $12 for the general public.  Doors open at 7:30pm and the concert begins at 8:00pm.  This event is sponsored by the Unity Hall Foundation, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1995 to maintain the 1896 Hall as a center for the arts and community activities in Barneveld, New York.  The Hall is available for public and private functions.   Tickets may be purchased locally at The Adirondack Cheese Company in Barneveld.  Tickets and information about this and other Unity Hall events are available online at www.unityhall.com, and Facebook/HistoricUnityHall.
