Matt Family’s On The Rocks Bar and Grill to Host Vintage Snowmobiles Races

The Matt Family’s On The Rocks Bar and Grill, located at 7142 Julie Street in Taberg, New York, will host its first vintage snowmobile race on Saturday, February 11, 2017. The track is located adjacent to the Matt’s Taberg tubing hill. “We decided to host these races because we want to promote winter activities in our area and to add to activities already happening at the tubing hill,” stated Brian Matt. He added, “we look forward to providing a day of family fun and entertainment with racers of all ages competing for purses and prizes.”

Racing begins at 11:30 AM with race sign ups taking place from 7 AM 'til 11 AM. The entry fee is $15 per class. Classes will include stock, improved stock, and open. There will be a youth class for kids ages 12 to 15 and a Mini 120 class for younger kids. Race planner Eric Centro stated, “there will be a Powder Puff (novice) class for individuals with little or no previous racing experience to try their hands at racing.”

To qualify to race, all snowmobiles must have been manufactured in 1980 or earlier. Centro added, “the day may also include some unique fun races which should be entertaining for both the participations and the spectators.” Admission to watch the races is free. Official race rules can be found on the On The Rocks official Facebook page.
