A Guide to Managing Thanksgiving Week
from family visits to shopping & everything in between
It’s the most wonderful time of the year… or at least that’s what they tell us. But the reality is, the holidays can be stressful. As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, it’s always a good time to reflect on what we’re thankful for. Some complain about hosting their families while others may not have family at all. Or maybe they simply can’t afford to travel during the holidays. Others stress about how to handle Black Friday shopping, yet some don’t have the luxury of being able to spend money. This got us thinking that there has to be a better way to navigate this busy time of year. Fortunately, there are tons of events and shopping deals happening in Oneida County this week! We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and is able to enjoy great food and time spent with family and friends. As you head out to shop and explore, we want to remind everyone to be kind to those who work in retail! Their jobs aren’t easy so being nice goes a long way! We also encourage you to shop local when you can. It may not be easy to do all the time, but getting a couple locally-made gifts will put a smile on a small business owner’s face! Finally, this is the busiest week of the year for going out to the bars. Please travel safely and don’t drink and drive! There are plenty of taxis, Ubers and Lyfts available! Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at OCT!
