Directed by Robert Zemeckis, WELCOME TO MARWEN was inspired by the 2010 documentary MARWENCOL. When a devastating attack physically shatters Mark (Steve Carell) and wipes away all memories, no one expected recovery. Putting together pieces from his old and new life, he meticulously creates a wondrous town where he can heal. As he builds an astonishing art installation, he draws strength to triumph in the real one. The movie also stars Leslie Mann, Diane Kruger, and Merritt Wever.
NEWSDAY writes that the movie has “An inventive use of cinematic effects and animation to bring a true story to life.” The ARIZONA REPUBLIC writes that “WELCOME TO MARWEN delivers a sentimental fantasy world worth wading in.”
